Moa Kichu is
an award winning young filmmaker from Nagaland, India who has devoted himself
to showcasing the trials, tribulations and resilience of his own people before
a national and international audience. He is one of the foremost among the Naga
filmmakers determined to show to the world a Nagaland beyond the stereotype of
unrest and violence. He directs, edits, scripts,
acts and produces films. His debut documentary ‘Before the Last’ (2006) and short fiction film Ice Cream (2009) have received both
award and acclaim. Ice Cream in
particular has attracted national and international attention. Moa is generally
known for making cause-oriented films with a popular appeal. He has made more than 100 short films, (fiction, documentaries
and TV programs). His work has been telecasted
in national television and screened in several national and international film
festivals.
